What started as a dream has now grown into a beloved local favorite, with four locations and a legacy of flavor, dedication, and community
2016
The beginning!
In 2016, we opened our first location at 1090 Rutland Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11212, under the name Kansas Chicken and Burger. Our goal was clear: to provide halal food that wasn’t just fresh but also full of flavor. However, the road wasn’t easy. Finding vendors and companies that could supply halal meat and ingredients was a challenge, but our commitment to quality never wavered.
2020
Growing Through Challenges!
In 2020, amidst the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, we opened our second location at 1032 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225. It was a tough time, but we persevered, crafting what would become some of our most iconic dishes: our signature sandwiches, tenders, burgers, and fried chicken, all made with our secret blend of herbs and spices.
As we grew, so did our challenges. We noticed imitators trying to copy our brand, diluting the quality and authenticity we worked so hard to build. It was a frustrating time, but it also gave us an opportunity to reflect on who we are and what we stand for.
2024
Expanding Our Reach!
In September 2024, we opened our third location at 1719 Pitkin Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11212, our first professionally designed space. This location marked a new chapter in our story, showcasing our growth and dedication to providing a welcoming dining experience.
2025
A New Chapter
Kanz Halal Chicken and Burgers!
To protect our legacy and reaffirm our commitment to halal excellence, we made the decision to rebrand. In 2025, Kansas Chicken and Burger became Kanz Halal Chicken and Burgers. This change wasn’t just about a new name – it was about reclaiming our identity and doubling down on our mission to serve fresh, halal food that our community can trust.
The name Kanz reflects our roots and our values. It’s a nod to our halal commitment and our dedication to quality. It’s also a promise to our customers: no matter how much we grow, we will always stay true to our mission.
Just a few months later, in January 2025, we expanded into Queens with our fourth location at 205-16 Linden Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11412. This milestone was a testament to our resilience and the love we’ve received from our loyal customers.
